FAQ Export
Why does my transparent PNG show a white background when I upload it?
Short answer: the transparency is almost always still in the file — it's the platform you uploaded to (or the app previewing it) flattening it onto white, not Zurapic's export.
Why it happens
Some platforms — certain email clients, older Office versions, some print services — don't support alpha transparency and silently render transparent pixels as white. Before blaming the destination, though, it's worth ruling out a real cause: if the layer still had a visible white Background layer underneath when you exported, that's baked into the PNG and no viewer can undo it.
How to check and fix it
- Open the exported PNG in a proper viewer — a new browser tab, or Preview/Photos with a checkerboard pattern — to confirm transparency is actually there before assuming the export is at fault.
- In Zurapic, make sure any Background layer is deleted or hidden, then re-export as PNG — never JPEG, which has no alpha channel at all.
- If the destination platform turns out to be the real culprit, export a second version with your intended background color baked in instead of relying on transparency.
Not sure if your export is really transparent? Open Export in Zurapic and check the Background layer before exporting.
