Can I Reuse My Own Photos Inside a Design Studio Template?
How template image slots work
Every Design Studio template is built from a fixed layout of text, shapes, and image "slots" — placeholder photos included in the template purely to show what kind of image fits that spot and at what crop ratio. None of that placeholder content is locked in.
Clicking any image slot brings up an upload option, and once a new photo is placed, it inherits that slot's exact dimensions, position, and any styling applied to it (rounded corners, a border, a filter) — only the pixels themselves change, not the design around them.
Cropping and repositioning
Because template slots are fixed-aspect-ratio, an uploaded photo with a different aspect ratio gets automatically cropped to fill the slot rather than squeezed or letterboxed. If the automatic crop cuts off the wrong part of the photo (a common issue with portrait shots or wide group photos), the crop position inside that slot can be adjusted afterward by dragging without affecting the slot's outer size.
Multiple photos in one template
Templates with several image slots (a photo grid layout, a before/after style template) can each hold a different uploaded photo — there's no requirement to use the same image in every slot, or to fill every slot at all if a design still looks complete with some left as a solid color or the original placeholder removed.
Any edits made to the design after swapping photos — moving text, changing colors, resizing elements — work the same as they would on the original template, since swapping an image doesn't convert the design into something less editable.
